What is Software (Application) Development?

Software development (also known as application development) is a broad term for the work involved in developing software. It is the development of a software product, such as a video game or an application like Notepad (software). In our weblog, we are talking all about software development for desktop computer such PCs and laptops, and not for web, nor for mobile application development. So, if we talk about a software developer who does application development, we are talking about a programmer that can develop a video game, application software and a computer program for desktop!

At some point, for me, desktop application developers are computer programmers that develop an application software for desktop computer, but they are not intended to a project of developing for operating system (OS) such as Microsoft Windows and Linux. Unlike a “software developer”, this title can be called to a programmer that develop an application and even to whom that develop for OS, as well as their act of developing. Therefore, software development and application development in this point are have a slight difference. Yet, other people says that the application development is just a synonym for software development. A desktop application developer could also develop for operating system.
